Pianist Dallas – Ken Boome, pianist

Ken Boome, pianist, composer, studio owner, and managing director of PianistDallas.com hails from upstate New York. Since moving to Dallas in 1983 he has completed more than 15,000 engagements as bandleader and pianist. Ken is an alumnus of the University of North Texas School of Music, where he won several Downbeat Magazine awards for his original music and his original jazz groups.

Ken loves creating exciting piano arrangements of classic popular and jazz music, including both songs you would know and more contemporary music than you would ever expect. You may have seen Ken leading his groups at The Adolphus Hotel (where he is Musical Director), at The Gaylord Texas where he currently performs solo piano weekly or back in the 90s at The Hotel Crescent Court’s Beau Nash, where he directed the House Band.

His latest CD is Life Lessons, original compositions with his contemporary five-piece jazz group. The catchy tune “Easy as Chocolate” was the theme song for the late Daryl Beason’s Radio Wine Show here in Dallas. “Easy as Chocolate” also took honorable mention in International Song Competition in 2006.
